Maxence Cyrin – Where Is My Mind?

This probably strays from the Portable content you’ve become used to, but hey, maybe it’s time to embrace something a little different. EAT PRAY BRO, Y’ALL.

The above work is the creation of French pianist, Maxence Cyrin. Although being classically trained, Cyrin has made a name for himself in recent times for covering contemporary pop songs, and coupling them with re-edited scenes from classic films. While some of his music seems to get a little lost in translation (see Around The World), this particular cover of the Pixies’ Surfer Rosa hit, Where Is My Mind?, is a banger. Visuals have been taken from the 1928 Greta Garbo film, The Mysterious Lady.

For more of Cyrin’s work, check out his official Vimeo Channel. The guy has an album out called Novö Piano.
