I’m not sure if this is some kind of metaphor, or if (god damn!) this is real. MGMT have released a video for the title track of their latest album, Congratulations. The clip features bandmates, Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden, along with what could possibly be the result of E.T. having sex with a marionette puppet.
It’s definitely a kewl song, and definitely a kewl video, but as the three characters march wistfully into the desert, it’s hard to ignore glaring similarities to this scene from Easy Rider:
