Their last music video was a short film epic that broke the rules of what a music video could be, and it’s equally as hard to describe the direction in which Portland band Portugal. The Man decided to take their latest music video. They have exposed us to a claymation world we never knew existed, using a material we wish was used more often.
The video for the song All Your Light (Times Like These),from their recently released album titled ‘In The Mountains In The Clouds’, paints a world and storyline so vividly, that the music becomes a perfectly appropriate soundtrack for an endearing story surrounding the plight of clay creatures. The video, directed by Justin Kramer and Lee Hardcastle, begins with an adventure through mountains of Dixie cups, but as the story goes on, the world we may have once been wary of somehow becomes all we know and caring about the characters seems weirdly intrinsic. The end result is a sad, gripping tale excellently executed through sound and clay.
