Sigur Ros, Innit?

By Brodie Lancaster / August 12th, 2011 in Music / / 238 views

Lucky for us, Sigur Rós couldn’t stay away for too long. After announcing an indefinite hiatus last January—not long before lead singer Jónsi found worldwide acclaim for his solo record ‘Go’—the ambient Icelandic quartet have returned with a teaser for their new project, ‘Inni’.

Comprised of nebulous black and white images similar to those Luis Bunuel made his specialty, the distorted audio builds to a crescendo before dropping out, allowing a delicate lullaby to lull us into a trance only possible by Jónsi and Co.

What exactly ‘Inni’ will be is about as ambiguous as the music we can expect to hear within in; whether it will come in the form of a DVD or the band’s sixth studio record is unclear so far, though the teaser video the band released yesterday has us eagerly anticipating its official release.
