Melbourne band Skipping Girl Vinegar may be known for their infectious indie-pop and their seemingly permanent presence on the tour circuit, but here’s proof that they make a damn fine music video too. The video for You Can was directed by Sarah-Jane Woulahan aka Nancy Vaudeville, who has also worked on clips for Silverchair and The Living End and is known for her ability to produce content that crosses art practices and platforms. It’s a beautiful dramatisation of that limbo moment between waking and getting out of bed: sometimes it’s just far too difficult to put your feet on the floor.

You Can is from Skipping Girl Vinegar’s new album, ‘Keep Calm and Carry the Monkey’, out now through Popboomerang Records.
