TAME IMPALA – Solitude is Bliss from MEGAFORCE on Vimeo.

You’ve all heard the song, now it’s time to see the video.

A few weeks back we let you in on some mixtape’s/jam sessions released ahead of Tame Impala’s long awaited debut album InnerSpeaker. Fresh off the presses today, is the music video for the first single off the album, ‘Solitude is Bliss‘.

There’s a party in my head, and no-one’s invited” really rings true of this music video as we follow the protagonist in what a resembles a very bad dream. Zigzagging his way through a series of isolated situations; fighting a dog to struggling with police and a solitude dance number in what looks like a war zone slotted somewhere in between.

The film clip is put together by a French quartet Megaforce, named after a Chuck Norris movie.
Megaforce have previously directed and produced the music video “Pursuit of Happiness” by Kid Cudi feat. MGMT & Ratatat and Metronomy‘s “A Thing For Me”. There isn’t a lot of information available on the boys from Megaforce. Only there past films and that they are represented by production company and creative collective, El Niño.

Although it may not appear aesthetically 70’s psychedelic as one would expect, it is still a bit of a trip leaving viewers uncertain of where they are in the story or the relevance of any of it. The Solitude is Bliss video certainly compliments the trademark “psychedelic hypno-groove melodic rock” sound of Tame Impala.
