Ted Leo and the Pharmacists recently collaborated with legendary theatre director Reginald VanVoorst to bring us this full-scale stage masterpiece, in which Ted – punk god that he is – sells his soul and credibility for fame. In the end, he dies. There’s a lesson in there, kids.
Not really, though.
The video for Bottled in Cork (from Ted & Co.’s 2010 album ‘The Brutalist Bricks’) is a big ol’ romp about theatre town, and features former Best Week Ever host Paul F. Tompkins as VanVoorst, as well as John Hodgman (whose face you will surely recognise more easily than his name) as the Guffman character.
The video was directed by WFMU host Tom Scharpling and made its debut on FunnyOrDie, where clips of this LOLitude really belong.
