The Click Clack Boom Goes Batty

The Click Clack Boom is a group of Brooklyn-via-Pennsylvania transplants who can’t sit still for long. Last year, they went on tour three times, literally playing all over the US and their enthusiasm for performing has earned them quite a following of devoted fans.

With their upbeat, punky sound, it’s easy to see why they cite bands such as The Foo Fighters as inspiration. The Click Clack Boom incorporates a mellow, Beach Boys-y vibe to their otherwise straight rock sound—each member of the band is a vocalist, and their harmonies add a softer edge to their sound.

Their vocal harmonies really shine on this acoustic performance of unreleased song Bats, which sounds like Fleet Foxes’ missing political track. The song is pretty and evokes thoughts of driving with the windows down on a spring day, but the performance space in the above video is an entirely different scene. The band sits among animal skulls and taxidermy bats, which are all a part of bassist Joseph Grazi‘s art studio.

Bats is a sneak-peak at the album The Click Clack Boom plans to release early next January.
