Bring on the noise, bring on the funk. British arts and music collective Murkage have exclusively shared their newest video with us and it’s managed to become one of our new favorite tracks of 2012. Titled Torches, the song comes from their upcoming EP of the same, a follow-up of their previous release Default Sovereign. Torches has an amazing amount of energy and rhythm, a definite fire-starter.
A directive collaboration between Chris Ranson and Gaika Tavares—and produced by Stuart Meldrum and David Lewis—the video masters a parallelism of both musical and visual power. The concept is simple, but there’s beauty in its simplicity because herein lies its greatness: musical intensity strengthened by booming lights and passionate delivery. It’s impossible to take your eyes and ears off this one.
