Travel Back in Time With Violens

The last time we heard from Brooklyn-based band Violens, they had just come off a tour with MGMT and were getting press left and right. Now we can see that they are totally living up to the hype with It Couldn’t Be Perceived, their moody, heavy, and completely mesmerizing new video that hits all the right notes.

Between the faded, low-fi visuals and the 80s-inspired new wave sound, we’re left wondering where this video has been for the last 25 years. Comprised of fuzzy shots of buildings, peoples, statues, and keyboards, it leaves you feeling like you’re nowhere and everywhere all at once.

Directed by Caroline Polahcek of the band Chairlift, It Couldn’t Be Perceived will have you feeling nostalgic for the days when The Cure and Bauhaus reigned supreme.

Violen’s latest album Amoral is available now on iTunes.
