You’ve heard the true Hollywood story and read the interviews in magazines; Katy Perry wasn’t always kissing girls and frolicking through Candyland in rocket powered bikinis. Perry started out her career as Katy Hudson, where she released a self-titled Christian rock album in 2001. Needless to say, the album didn’t really take off. But fast forward five years and three different record companies, add super-powered music producer Dr. Luke and Capitol Records, and Katy Perry was born.
Regardless of the hot and cold career history, Katy’s talent seems to be a consistent factor throughout the years. She sounded amazing as an evangelical singer (check our her vocal digs below) and she still remains one of the best voices in pop today.
