Despite being only 25 years old, recording artist and model Maad Moiselle has a relationship with her personal style that dates back decades. In the new video from our friends at StyleLikeU, the New Jersey-based sartorial savant describes her obsession with her mother’s stories from the days of Studio 54, cites Diana Ross as the inspiration for her haircut and mentions—almost as a throwaway—that she’s wearing “Madonna’s Material Girl shorts”.

Interviewing Maad was such an uplifting experience! She is a singer/songwriter and lives out in New Jersey with her parents. After getting lost about ten times on the drive there, arriving 45 minutes late and unsure of whether I was at the right house, Maad ran out of the front door and greeted us with the most welcoming energy. I love how Maad follows her instinctual impulses and is willing to jump into new experiences as a beginner. Whether modeling in her teens, getting spontaneous tattoos, or performing for the first time in front of 50,000 people on a European music tour, Maad’s openness and freedom within herself was totally infectious to be around.
