Geting to Know a New Yorker

This Tom Hanks-inspired idiom is the focus of the Getting to Know You project, an initiative of one of our favourite blogs, The New Pop.

Thanks to this series of short portraits (shortraits?), we’ve met people like Jonna and Olivia, Kevin the comedian and Sarah, who drives an ice cream truck called the Hearts Challenger.

While each video gives us a taste of a different side of New York, they all carry that same unique New York (say it five times fast!) flavour; they are friendly but offer short responses, they take advantage of good weather by spending their time in the park, and they don’t work boring, nine-to-five jobs. In other words, they are our favourite kinds of people!
