Documentary web series Here’s The Thing is all about bringing people together. Created by Miska Draskoczy, the series documents the household possessions that make a person who they are, and is currently traveling cross-country to tell the stories of everyday Americans. Here’s The Thing… Across America aims to profile the widest range of people possible: young or old, rural or urban, gay or straight. The series connects people by showing that no matter how wildly diverse our walks of life, everyone has a compelling story tucked away in their home that we  could find fascinating.

“We’ve profiled everyone from great grandmothers, teenage girls, comedians, musicians and office managers– to a Crips gang leader and a former secretary of state of Canada,” Draskoczy explains. “So far [for Across America], we’ve secured an MMA Fighter from New Jersey, a Homicide Detective and an Outsider Artist from LA, a Hog Hunter and a Rancher/Ex-Taxidermist Grandmother from Florida. We can’t wait to see who else joins the mix as we make our way to Los Angeles.”

A Kickstarter fund has also been launched to raise funds for the series. As is the Kickstarter way, each person who pledges $10 or more will recieve a thank you gift from Draskoczy according to the size of their donation.
