Italian-born, New York resident Olimpia Zagnoli has been making waves in the art world recently thanks to her simplistic illustrations which embrace block colours and iconography. In this little video, she talks about not only what inspires her today, but the hand her upbringing played in fostering her creative talent. This is a shortened version of the presentation she gave at AIGA NY, a design association based in New York and is well worth a peek for any budding designers/illustrators out there. She talks about her experiences trying to be noticed as an artist and how things changed once she started working for The New Yorker.
