Look—up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s ….a person? Well, more or less. Gizmodo informed us that, as a way to get people interested in the upcoming movie Chronicle, the film’s marketing team built three RC planes bearing uncanny resemblances to human beings and flew them around New York City’s landmarks like the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty.
The video documenting the team’s adventure is scored by Tom Quick and, as could be expected, the clever marketing strategy had many a tourist (and even a New Yorker, gasp!) gawking and taking pictures of the “flying people”. This is definitely a good way to get people buzzing about something—much more memorable than a blockbuster trailer.
