The legends behind Vimeo have always been our homies. As a platform for new filmmakers and for video freaks like us, Vimeo is without equal. They’re about to get even more awesome too; they’ve promised to follow you and feed you. It may make you seem like a pet (which would be a pretty sweet deal) but they mean it in a much better way than walkies and raw meat in jelly.

Introducing the new Vimeo! Staying true to their roots, the Vimeo crew have created a short film to show you the main improvements of the new system. Directed by Brennan Stasiewicz and produced by Brooklyn based m ss ng p eces, this clip is a clever little loop ad infinitum, where film set becomes vimeo video becomes film set becomes vimeo video.

The idea is to make the new Vimeo more intuitive and both user- and viewer-friendly than before. The videos will be bigger and wider and there will be greater privacy. And because we all know how much we like to test the internet’s patience, there will be a more efficient system to upload all your videos at the same time.

What’s more, the current set up of contacts and subscriptions will be consolidated into one big feed, and there will also be a system of ‘following’—the happy internet kind that is, not the one that puts you in jail. Viva Vimeo!
